Meeting Cancelled

It is with a huge amount of regret that we have to cancel the Masters Grand Prix event scheduled for Saturday 22nd August at Woodbourn Road Stadium, Sheffield.

Despite updated competition guidance from England Athletics released this week we still don’t feel that we can safely put on the event.

The logistics of trying to make the individual track and field events work with reduced numbers per event and race would prove too restrictive.

As well as the extra organisation and marshals required to control warm-ups and other elements of the meeting along with the prerequisite risk assessments for the venue.

We understand that guidance may well change in the coming weeks and become more favourable, but we need a month to organise the event, hence the decision made today.

We really hope to bring some sort of Masters event to you at the earliest possible opportunity.
But ultimately the safety of both athletes and officials comes first and this will guide any future decision

When is it

Masters Grand Prix is back at Wodbourn Road stadium for a whole day of outdoor track and field action on Saturday 22nd August 2020.

We are delighted to announce that our event will incorporate the Yorkshire Vets Track and Field Championship too.  So if you’re a member of  a Yorkshire Vets affiliated club you will be eligible to win medals on the day.

If you’re not an affiliated Yorkshire athlete, no problem, no changes, just come and take part.

Coronavirus / Covid-19

Due to the latest government advice and social distancing measures we have moved the event back from the original 11th July date until Saturday 22nd August.

We hope that by moving this to later in the summer we can still put the event on.  We also have a date in September available to us if guidance dictates.

We will try everything we can to get this event on before the end of the summer season and give ample notice before opening online entries.

But saying all that, we will always adhere to government and England Athletics advice as athlete health, well-being and safety is our top priority.

You can find out if your club is affiliation here: https://www.yvaa.org/membership/

What will it cost

Entry will cost £8 for the first event and £4 for each subsequent event.
